54 Days

Blogs haven't been my first priority these past few weeks…or maybe its been months?

With the school year ending, moving back home, and trying to get every little ounce of Pete I could get before he went to Nashville, I've been a busy bee. School is over and I am so glad that I am able to spend some QT here in Tulsa with my family. Pete spent a week in Tulsa after school got out. We literally lounged and did almost absolutely nothing all week [which is exactly what we had planned]. He left on Saturday for Nashville and I have already started the countdown.
54 DAYS.
It actually hasn't sunk in that I won't be seeing him for about 2 months…but I am sure within a few days I will be begging for him to get his buns back here. From now until then, I am trying to keep myself busy until I start nannying next week. Ya know, filling my life with DIYs, sewing, organizing, Pinterest, and TV shows [it's a good thing the Bachlorette starts tonight].

My first DIY is currently underway and should be done shortly. I will post pictures once it is finished. Because it is summer and I have nothing better to do with my life, I am forcing myself to stay on top of blogs…even if it is just a DIY post.
OHH, and THUNDER UP :)

Blessings to the Max

Ya know when you have a weekend that completely blows your mind with excitement? That is exactly how I feel right now. I am currently sitting on my comfy bed recovering from one of the greatest weekends of my college life. I will give all of you a day by day summary so you can get the full effect!

Friday is already great in itself because it is the end of the week and all I get to do for the next three days is lounge. God graced Stillwater with beautiful weather which always gives me the energy to be productive. After attempting to survive a long afternoon workout, I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning and doing laundry. Pete and I decided to dedicate Friday night to us. It was one of his only days off work this week so we went out and did what couples do, right?! We went to get dinner and saw a fantastic movie. If you haven't had a chance to see The Lorax, GO SEE IT. I have a horrible obsession with children movies.

Pete worked all Saturday so I spent the day with the greatest friends on earth. We decided to drive to Oklahoma City and do some shopping before spring break. Isn't it just great when you can be in the car and talk the whole way there with some of the most amazing people? I am so thankful to have such amazing friends to share so many memories with. After spending money that I shouldn't have spent, we ate dinner at a famous fried chicken place. Eischen's in Okarche, OK has been featured on one of Pete and I's favorite shows, Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. I will put the link to the episode so you can check it out.

After waiting an hour and a half, I stuffed my huge belly with way too many pieces of chicken and way too much fried okra. I mean it's not like I am going to the beach soon anyway right? It will probably take me two weeks to work off all those calories. I am a city girl and have never been to a town so small. I got a little picture happy at times but who doesn't love capturing moments when you gained 15 ell-bees in one sitting? I have a feeling you might even gain a few pounds just from smelling the grease outside the restaurant.
Sorry it was so dark.
Sunday my boyfriend signed a lease on an apartment!! It has been so exciting to watch him go through so many changes and today I watched him make a huge decision. I could not be more happy for him. A huge thanks goes to my wonderful mother for making a trip to Stillwater to help him decide! I am so blessed to have Pete in my life and I am so proud of how well he has handled all these changes. Can't wait for him to cook me some dinner in that gorgeous apartment of his.
Why does the weekend have to end so quickly?

Leap Day Needs

HAPPY LEAP DAY!

I decided to make the best out of this day because it has to last me four years. I have officially completed ONE thing on my To-Do list for today. This is evidence in its self that I am enjoying this 80 degree weather in the great town of Stink Water.

I accomplished tanning!
God has blessed us with a beautiful day filled with sunshine here! Normally I would be calling up Pete to ask him to walk Boomer Lake with me but today is his first day at his new job. I am so happy he finally found a job here but I am a litttttttle selfish when it comes to my time with him.

So….to cure the little whole in my heart for missing a day at Boomer, I treated myself to a sweet tea from Chick-fil-a. I normally don't find this necessary. Usually a Red Diamond from a gas station will hit the spot but when it is this beautiful outside and I have two tests this week, a Chick-fil-a sweet tea is definitely on my 'needs' list.

February 29th only comes every four years.
Treat yourself to something sweet :)

adult things

I have had the joy of feeling extra adult this past week. That is a complete joke by the way. Who likes being an adult? I don't know about you but I miss the days of playing with teething toys in my oh-so comfy diaper.

Number one adult thing: I received THE email from my adviser at school. Not only is it time for me to make my appointment but it is time for me to graduate from general education classes people! I thought I would be happy when this day came…. I am actually flipping out because I don't want to graduate. After this semester I will have my Associates. Let me just put this into a even more 'adult' perspective for you. My mom had just got her Associates when her and my dad got married. I honestly never thought the day would come when every class I was taking was for my major.

Number two adult thing: Pete and I made a little road trip on Saturday to OKC to visit Pete's sister, Jena, who was here from San Antonio for a few days. Jena and her husband recently moved to San Antonio over Christmas. Pete's other sister, Sam, lives in Norman and goes to OU. You know you are getting old when your [pretty much sister] has to drive 10 hours just to see you. What happened to everyone living 15 minutes from each other?

Number three adult thing: Pete and I went to look at apartments for him today. Just like my school, I never thought the day would come that I would have to shop for an apartment. I mean I know it isn't for me but of course Pete needs my help picking out a place to live! Seriously cannot believe that Pete is about to finish his first year of college and get an apartment. What happened to being sixteen?

Number four adult thing: TWO of my friends/acquaintances got engaged this weekend. You know you are getting old when people your age are getting married. Isn't 20 a little young?! [Just my opinion]

Also, I went to my all time favorite beauty store this weekend while I was in OKC. Lush Cosmetics is a great place filled will all natural beauty products out the whazoo. I have some serious sensitive skin and can't use body wash from any drug store or anything. I splurged and purchased some body soap called Happy Hippy, a Dragon's Egg bath bomb, and some of the greatest face mask on earth, th Cupcake Mask. All of their prodcuts are natural which basically means they are a little present sent from heaven for people with skin like mine. Thank you Jesus for Lush.

Dear So&So,

 Dear Wonderful Parents,
Thank you for welcoming Pete and I home with open arms this weekend. We are so blessed to have such amazing people in our lives who continue to love on us no matter what. I just can't get enough of you both. Thank you for being such great examples to me. I love you both so much.

Dear Pete,
You never cease to amaze me with the amount of hours you can sleep and the amount of time it takes you to hit the sack. Oh ya, and the fact that you can sleep anywhere, in any position, at any time. Thank you for making the most delicious brownies this weekend.
Betcha' didn't know I took this :)

Dear Weekend,
I appreciate the fact that you allowed me to be an absolute lump on a log and accomplish absolutely nothing. I enjoy when I can spend my time with you being lazy and not to mention looking a little frumpy. The fact that my mom asked me when the last time I washed my hair was might be a little too frumpy, though. But I mean honestly, who looks their best on Saturdays anyway?

Dear Brooke and Amy,
Love that our group texts consist of Amy informing us that her grandma just slapped her sister at a wedding. Cannot wait for another week full of lunch dates and millions of stories. Love you both so much and I am so blessed to have such amazing friends in my life.

My Sweet Valentine

This goes in the books for one of the best date nights ever.

Surpisingly, Stillwater didn't let us down on Valentines Day. Pete picked me up and took me to my all time favorite Italian restaurant in Stillwater. The food is to die for especially the yummy carb-filled bread. As long as I eat those I see no future in getting into shape. After dinner, Pete took me to see The Vow. I'd been dying to see it and knew that he was sacrificing a whole lot of manhood to see this chick flick. I was also shocked to hear him say, "It wasn't TOO bad!"

Gifts shmifts. Pete knew exactly what I wanted and purchased me a Starbucks gift card so I am able to gorge myself in even more coffee/tea. Oh and that huge box of chocolates?! It's not like spring break is in 4 weeks. It's fine.

I hand crafted my gift to Pete…just like I do almost every other gift I give him. I know guys aren't the biggest fans of home made things [except food] but because I have no job and no money, a $3 gift is right up my ally. [Pete gave plasma just so he could take me out! Isn't he the sweetest?!] I decided to make Pete the "52 Things I Love About You" cards.

Here are a few pictures:

Pete actually liked this one. Probably because he can take the cards off the ring and play him a round of Nerts. Let's face it ladies, we only make these gifts so we have something to look back on, right? I mean we know the guy isn't going to come up with something this crafty!

It was a fantastic Valentines Day filled with tons of laughs and tons of love. A huge thanks to Pete Carper for being such a fantastic boyfriend and the absolute best Valentine! Four years and runnin, baby!

Sorry, we can't seem to remember to take pictures when we actual look presentable.

ToneItUp

It was brought to my attention that I have approximately 44 days until I am oceanfront in Destin with 40 of the greatest sorority sisters. I will admit that I am someone that doesn't get their healthy share of the gym on a week by week basis. Of course I had a New Years resolution that I would get in shape but when you add in class, homework, tests, and the fifteen shows I keep up with, it is sometimes a little hard to make time for the horrendous elliptical. God forbid I miss The Bachelor.

My boyfriend has this sore spot in his heart that hates Pinterest. Personally, I think he hates it because it distracts me from giving him the attention he thinks he deserves. I try to convince him that good things come out of spending hours on end searching through this time consuming site. Usually that doesn't work until now!

I recently stumbled across a pin that said 'workout videos'. I tend to stumble across several pins a day that aim toward working out but they never please me. If it's not a false link, it's just a magazine article. And lets face it, those magazine workouts never work. I decided I would give this pin a shot so I clicked on the picture and it took me to the heaven of workout videos.
[I know the girls are super in shape and have the best bodies ever but don't let that stop you!]

At first, I had little hope that this would solve my laziness to actually go to the gym but in fact, IT DID! Not only does this website have a bajillion videos, but they are extremely user friendly. I watched one video, called Pete and made him come to Walmart to help me buy the equipment I needed.

I still go to the gym to do cardio but it is nice to be able to come back to my place and use ToneItUp. Plus, nobody is watching me while my lumpy buns are jumping for the stars.  Everybody check this site out and I promise you will love it!

Extremely Lazy and Incredibly Boring Weekend

Once again, the weekend came and went faster than I wanted.

This always happens to me. I have tons of things I want to do/need to do over the weekend and I maybe accomplish two of those things. Usually, my weekend consists of me loungin and snoozin, snoozin and loungin [Marcel the Shell 2 reference. Go watch it]

This past week my boyfriend had the opportunity to move into a niceR room on campus. We packed ALL his things up and transported it to his new room…this was all done without anything but our own two, teensie hands. Let's just say I proved that I am not the weakling everyone thinks I am. Soo…..he was incredibly excited to have a new place and get all settled when we found out his suite mates were absolutely crazy! And I mean legitimately C R A Z Y. Needless to say, we packed everything back into boxes and moved him back to his old room. We successfully moved him in and out of two rooms within a weekend. My workout for the month is complete. [Not really. I need to jump on that….NY resolution is knocking]

After all that hard labor, Pete and I treated ourselves to Rib Crib and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. I was fairly disappointed in the movie but the BBQ was incredible. We also decided to splurge and treat ourselves to a fun/fruity drink we discovered last Spring Break. We had this drink several times a day on the cruise we took last year and became addicted. It is half Pineapple Juice and half Red Bull. We sipped on this yummy treat and played Boogle for awhile.

The rest of the weekend was probably spent on Pinterest but I have horrible memory.

Well actually…Pete and I DID watch the Super Bowl tonight. I'm not much of a football fan [except when my Cowboys are playing]. When anyone else is playing, I don't really pay attention. Because I am a horrible girlfriend and I lack a place to cook my boyfriend anything, we ate lunchables, chips, and oreos. I cannot tell you how many times I apologized for not being able to make him some Rotel. Whoops.
Also, I know none of you have met this beaut. So, I will make a formal introduction of my super cute pillow pet, Chloe. This is a picture of Chloe and I watching the Super Bowl. GO GIANTS/PATRIOTS!
[ignore the Doritos in the back]

If you watched the Super Bowl, I hope you ate enough cheese dip for my boyfriend too.
Fun Fact: I don't like cheese.

'Cause when you're fifteen..

I'm not the kind of girl that enjoys pulling out pictures from my teenage years. This experience is usually extremely painful because we all know how awkward being fifteen was. It's also followed by thoughts like….
"Why did you think you looked 'cool' wearing that?"
"Why did you wear green eyeshadow?"
&
"Why was making music videos so rad?"

The other day I was rummaging through old pictures on my computer in search of the perfect one for my Valentines Day craft.
While searching, I found this.

Pete was probably fifteen/sixteen in this picture and absolutely the most precious fifteen/sixteen year old on the face of this planet. Pete and I have been dating for three years. After dating so long, pictures really help you remember some of the faint memories of our relationship. I can't believe how much he has grown over the past three years. I sent this picture to Pete's mom over text message knowing I would get an "OMG" response. Of course, she replied with "OMG!!! HOW CUTE WAS HE?!"

I thought I'd share this adorable picture with everyone.

That was the then and this is the now:

A little more than an 'A-line' tailor

My uncle wrote this wonderful piece for "This Land" press this month.

"Mr. Ray Fits a Suit"
Sherman Ray, Photo by Jeremy Charles

This touching, article is a tribute to an amazing tailor who is based in Tulsa, OK. This man has survived more life than many of us could even imagine. Read about Mr. Sherman Ray, who is a survivor of Auschwitz concentration camps.

[BE PREPARED TO BE INSPIRED.]

A huge thank you to my uncle, Michael Berglund, for writing this amazing article!

Sometimes life calls for a crafty weekend

It's Sunday, which means my books are currently stacked next to me and I am wondering how long it could possibly take me to start my homework.

I finally decided to clean my room this weekend and dump all the unnecessary items that have been shoved away in hidden places. I came across an old, uncharacteristic picture frame. Because I have the mind of a crafter, I immediately thought of a million things I could do to make the picture frame have a little personality. Also, because I am a poor, college student with no job, I needed something cheap!!

After class, I drug Pete to the used book store with me to grab a grungy book for my project. I know it seems strange that I made Pete go with me but when you live in Stillwater there is no telling what you will run into while taking adventurous journeys to new places. The only thing I knew about this place was that it was called Book Nook. Personally, I picked this one because of the fun name! I mean it sounds like a cute, little book store right? WRONG.

Everyone, welcome to the Book Nook.

After our experience traveling to used book stores, I came back home and started ripping the pages out determined to make the cutest paper rosettes possible. Pete and I started talking about the author of the book and wondering what she would do if she knew I was using her book to make paper flowers. As I ripped the pages out, I read some of them so I didn't feel absolutely horrible about destroying Calling Romeo. Let's just say after reading some of those pages I didn't feel too bad after all.

That $2.50 was totally worth it.

Ben the Bachelor

I have a confession. I am a sucker for reality TV shows.

Anything that has to do with anything/anyone that is remotely entertaining catches my attention. I am sure a lot of girls can agree with me that The Bachelor is their unhealthy obsession. I have watched The Bachelor for several seasons and continue to drowned myself in the drama every Monday night [or Tuesday afternoon]. Ever since my boyfriend has informed me that all reality TV shows are scripted, I sometimes get my much needed ab workout while watching these shows [especially The Bachelor]. I laugh WAY too much.

If you don't keep up with Ben and his current, thirteen 'dreamy' women, here is a summary:

1. Ben was on The Bachelorette with Ashley last season.
2. Ben makes wine for a living. [could there be a better job?]
3. These girls are absolutely crazy.
4. Ben is waiting to find the love of his life while traveling to some of the most amazing places on this   earth.

I watched the latest episode this afternoon during my two hour break in between classes. The highlight of the episode for me was this little piece of advice everyone should follow:

"If we can conquer the San Francisco bridge, I can't imagine what we can overcome in the future."

Although I cannot seem to NOT watch this darn show, I find myself dissecting it like the frog in my tenth grade biology class. I mean to be honest, who wouldn't have an attraction to someone while traveling to some beautiful places all over the world, living in a gigantic house and being paid thousands of dollars to appear on the show????

Even after all my complaints and misunderstandings about this show, I still watch it and tune in to every episode.

Thank God for reality television.

P.S. If you are wondering my favorite so far is Kacie B

MLK and MUFFINS.

PTL for three day weekends.

I know what you are thinking. Christmas break was just a week ago. Believe me, I'm aware. But it's the first week back that is always the worst. Monday is MLK Day. HALLELUJAH!

I have riveting, childhood memories of MLK Day. Remember people, riveting does not mean happy. In second grade, I attended the MLK Day parade in Tulsa with my best friend, Amy and her grandma. I'm not sure why we decided it would be fun to strut the streets of downtown Tulsa in the freezing weather and watch people march down the road, but we did. Not only were we the greatest pair of best friends on the planet, we were also the most competitive. We raced down a hill that day at the MLK parade. Amy ended up winning only because I fell and busted my face on the concrete, sidewalk that lined the end of the hill. [How stupid do I have to be?] I chipped my two front teeth that day and lost a lot of blood. But look guys, you would have never known my two front teeth are half fake?! Dentists are angels from heaven.

In honor of MLK and busting two teeth, I get the day off school. I came home this weekend to see my wonderful parents [or to get my Scentsy that Pete's parents bought me] ! My parents just recently invested in all new appliances for the kitchen so my mom was determined to try out her new oven. Like any other creative girl, I pulled up my "Yummy in the Tummy" board on Pinterest. [Pinterest is so faithful.] We decided to make French Toast Muffins this morning. Boy, the picture on Pinterest looked terriffic. We pulled the muffins out of the oven looking forward to the 'melt-in-our-mouth' feeling. The picture inevitably LIED. The muffins tasted like cardboard. [Don't let the picture above fool you]. We were disappointed but forced the fraile, cardboard muffins down.

The muffins were a fail but the time at home with my parents has not been.

P.S. Betty Thompson should have won Miss America. I'm not complaining or anything.

Am I bookworm material?

I'm not much of a reader. A book is never my first pick when I am bored and searching for something to do. I could count the number of books I have fully read on two hands. [Yes, I understand that is extremely wrong] It's not that I don't like to read, it's just hard for me to get into a book unless it's extremely good. And for me, those extremely good books are hard for me to find.

Pete's family are avid readers. It's not uncommon for his mother to pull out a book while the family is watching TV. They are a reading family. [Except for Pete, of course] My family on the other hand, we are not readers. I didn't grow up with a mother who was actively involved in a book club or a dad who loved to read mysteries. Therefore, I am not a reader.

I received The Hunger Games for Christmas this year. I recently started hearing all of the uproar about this book but never really thought to give it a chance. I gave in to the read mostly because I had the book on hand and when you are in the car for 12 hours you have got to occupy yourself somehow. I haven't been able to put this book now since Tuesday. The Hunger Games has kept my attention, people! My attention is something that is very hard to keep especially with a book.

I am pleased to announce that I will continue reading The Hunger Games and the rest of the trilogy.

Maybe reading isn't all that boring.

A New Year and New Expectations

Why are years going by so fast? It seems that the older I get, the faster time goes by.

Yesterday was my birthday! I am not a teenager anymore. I have lived for two decades. I am half way to forty. How ever you want to put it, I am 20. I spent my birthday in Nashville, TN with my boyfriend and his family. My mom was a little ify about not seeing me on my birthday. Thank goodness for Skype! I sent my family nothing but love over that small but oh so powerful webcam. Skype is a life saver.

My boyfriend's mother, Jenny, took me to a wonderful birthday lunch at a local restaurant in Franklin, TN called J. Alexander's. We were hoping we could see a star or two but no such luck. Lunch was still a blast. I am so thankful for Jenny and how much she has allowed me to be a part of her family. I feel so blessed to be able to be so close to Pete's parents. After lunch, we met the men back at the apartment. They had spent their morning golfing thanks to the amazing weather we have had this winter. Pete took me on a great date that evening. We went and ate a fantastic dinner and then drove out to the Opryland Hotel to look at the Christmas lights. My family has been giving me a hard time because I haven't seen anything while I've been in TN. The lights were gorgeous. Every little twig on those trees were covered with lights. I feel so sorry for those people that have to put the lights up. Too bad it cost $18 to actually park and walk up to the lights. That was the Debbie-downer. But because of the lucky couple we are and because it was my birthday, of course, we received a F R E E parking spot! Thanks to the sweet hearted gentleman who gave us his parking spot, we were able to walk around.

Later that night, Pete, his parents and I went to Aunt Kiki's house to celebrate the New Year and a new engagement in the family!!! No, it's not me. Pete's cousin, Shane got engaged last night to his new fiance, Margaret.

I was so blessed to be surrounded by a great family on my birthday. Although I wasn't able to spend it with my parents, I'm glad that Pete's parents do a perfect job on acting like I am their child. I am so excited to see what God has in store for me in 2012. I look forward to making some terrific memories with my best friend/boyfriend, family and friends.

                               Happy New Year!

Time flies when you're having fun.

 2008
Yesterday my boyfriend and I celebrated our three year anniversary. Three years is a long time considering we are only 20 years old. We spent our day together realizing that no special celebration would occur. Let's face it, we are both college students without jobs, who just bought Christmas presents for each of our family members. We are BROKE. We went to visit Pete's grandparents in Sapulpa for the day. Grandparents are the greatest. After being with Pete for three years, I feel like I have been adopted into his family and I know he feels the same about mine. It was so great to be with his grandparents yesterday. After leaving Sapulpa, we ran a few last minute Christmas errands and then came back home. We spent the rest of the night at home snuggled in our PJ's. Pete had his Christmas here last night with my parents. [Speaking of Christmas, I still have to find his gift.] Pete opened the presents from my parents and my parents opened the presents we bought them. I find so much joy in watching Pete open presents. Seeing him so excited and happy gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Our big HOORAH for the night was to go eat Krispy Kreme at 10:00 at night. Don't worry, we know it's not healthy and it's considered a sugar overload but who cares, right?! My stomach wasn't too happy when I shoved 2 warm, yummy donuts into my tummy, though. Although our three year anniversary wasn't spent in a limo ride around Rhema or a $100 dinner date, I couldn't care less.

What's better than lounging around in your PJ's with your best friend all night stuffing your face with donuts?

I am so thankful for Pete and the relationship that we have. God has truly blessed both of our lives with each other and I couldn't be more grateful to be able to spend these past three years with Pete. We have experienced several changes through out these three years that have made our relationship what it is today. We are so thankful for everyone in our lives. A special thanks to those people who have supported us the whole way and cheered us on through every step of our relationship.

And the marriage questions begin...

It's been forever.

It's been forever since I have had thrity minutes to sit down, relax, and blog about life.

After months and months of getting caught up on school work, the semester if finally winding down. Teachers are frantically assigning extra credit, throwing out last minute quizzes, and preparing their students for finals. While school is honestly the last thing on my mind, I have to force myself to make it a priority. Let's face it, the holidays are here and all I can think about is buying gifts, eating food, and going back to my hometown. Thanksgiving break is the ultimate tease. It's five days of fun and games and then back to the usually grind of things. Not to mention I only have two and a half more weeks of school left.

Most exciting part of Kansas!
I spent my Thanksgiving break in Keystone, CO with some amazing family members. I couldn't wait to spend some quality time with the people I love and enjoy a nice break from school. After a 15 hour road trip, we had finally made it to Keystone. Let me add some advice...if you ever go to Colorado, FLY! The drive was awful. Not only was it 15 hours, several of those hours were spent driving through the state of Kansas (aka: most boring state ever).

Most of the trip was spent relaxing at the house. On Friday, my dad, my uncle and I went skiing. I had been eight years since I slipped my tensie feet into ski boots and hit the slopes but I was determined to impress myself. But good news everyone! All the ins and outs of skiing came right back to me and I had a blast. I also woke up the next morning with gelatin legs and bruises out the whazoo but that's the price you gotta pay.

Keystone, CO.

Even though Thanksgiving break was a tease, it was a much needed tease. I seem to always forget how thankful I am. I have an amazing family that loves me. I have a best friend/boyfriend that supports me in everything and anything (and the fact that we miss each other 12 hours after being apart is crazy). I am so thankful to be surrounded by amazing people on a daily basis and couldn't ask for anything more. God is so great--here is proof!

Color Me Cocoa

Hello ALL!
This is my first wedding post! Hope you enjoy ;)

I am all about weddings and everything that is involved in planning a bride's big day. Fall is here and so are brides searching for the perfect wedding palette for the season. Look at this beauty up above! I love the different shades of brown with the pops of gorgeous color!! I know people always think that spring and summer weddings are perfect because they have such a wide range of bright colors to choose from. But I promise, if you try, finding a memorable color palette for fall is not impossible. Yes, I said it, NOT impossible. If I was planning my BIG day for the fall, this palette would be one of my top picks.

Well, just a little wedding advice for those who adore weddings as much as I do :)

Falling Into Fall

Oh you know, just another study break for me on my Sunday night.

To be honest, I've never had a favorite season. The past 19 (almost 20) years I have always told people that my favorite season is summer. I think I just picked summer because it is hot, there is no school, and you get to take fun vacations. For whatever reasons, summer was my first pick. But ladies and gentleman, I am almost 20 years old. I believe I need a favorite season. So...in that case, I have disected all four seasons so I could choose my favorite. It didn't take long until I realized that I am in love with autumn.
I AM NO LONGER FAVORITE SEASONLESS!

Autumn is the most beautiful season. The weather is turning just chilly enough to throw on a pair of William Rast skinnies and a light sweater. Don't forget the floral scarf (I'm a scarf junkie too). Starbucks is releasing their oh so famous Pumpkin Spice Latte, which is pure heaven in a cup. It's football season, the leaves are turning orange and red, and I get to burn my Leaves candle from Bath and Body Works. Don't forget the pumpkin ptach! These are just some of the greatest things about Fall. I am proud to say that I am falling in love with fall.

                       What is your favorite season?

A Desperate Need.

As the week is slowly, slowly, s l o w l y coming to an end, I am patiently waiting for the weekend. This week has not only been busy like every other week of my college life but it becomes extra busy when two tests are piled on my load. To-do lists are my thing. Yes, it helps me keep track of the things I have to get done but I also get to decorate a piece of paper with fun colors and pretty penmanship. I am just a craft junkie, so anything thrown my way where I can have fun doing it, I get extremely excited about. Through out the week of surviving Theta meetings and Geography and Speech tests, I have realized My Desperate Need.
The Lord continues to bless me through each busy week. Whether it is having a blast with my Theta sister on the porch, stepping on a balance beam for the first time in 5 years, or treating myself to a delicious Jamba Juice with the best man in the world, I continuously am appalled at the blessings God pours on me. This semster has been packed with creative To-Do lists but how many times has God been on my To-Do list? These thoughts get me every time. God pours his blessings on me each and every day and how many times do I pour my blessing on Him? My Desperate Need is to become a woman that blesses God for His blessings. Through out this whole week of craziness, all I have wanted is the weekend. The weekend has been My Desperate Need until tonight. Tonight, God is My Desperate Need.

I hope that God can become your Desperate Need as each of you continue living out your busy schedules and hectic lives. Just never forget to make crafty To-Do Lists and to add God to those.
